Silverstripe is a relative newcomer to the CMS (Content Management System) scene. However, it's starting to make an impact with developers and designers around the globe.
The 2008 US Democratic National Convention used Silverstripe as the framework for their website.
The site received more than 3.2 million visits totaling more than 2.6 billion hits during Convention week. This included more than 350,000 hours of video from the site. Not bad for software developed from a small company based in New Zealand!
For the technically minded, this is Open-Source software based on the PHP programming language and uses a MySQL database to store content. It is based on the MVC(Model View Controller) architecture using object-oriented principles.
