If we are are taking care of hosting your website, chances are we are also hosting your email services too. Here is some information that will be of help in setting up your email client program to retrieve and send emails with your account(s).

Most of the time you will want to download your email onto a PC or laptop for permanent storage. You can use an email program like Microsoft Outlook(PC) or Entourage(Mac). The example shown on the right is from Outlook Express.
You will need to create a new identity (or account) in your email program. How you do this will depend on the specific email program. The default settings will be as follows:
Server type: pop3
Incoming mail (pop3): mail.mydomain.co.nz*
Outgoing mail (smtp): This will depend on the ISP (Internet Service Provider) you use for your internet - for example if you use xtra as your ISP, this value should look something like this: smtp.xtra.co.nz**
* Example: To access info@bigtrucks.co.nz you would use mail.bigtrucks.co.nz
** If you are unsure, you should contact your ISP for details.
Login: This is the email address: e.g. info@bigtrucks.co.nz
Password: The password we send you.
There are many different email programs available. They all have different methods of setting up to receive and send emails.
If you are unsure how to set up your program please do an internet search or use the help section of your program. If you still have problems, please contact us.
At any time time you check your emails over an internet based webmail system - perfect if you are away from your computer. By default the emails remain on the remote email server (so are accessible via your webmail system), until they are downloaded onto your desktop PC or laptop through your normal email program.
Yes.
Just remember that the emails you send will remain on the web-based email server. They will not automatically be downloaded onto your home/work PC/laptop when you check your email.
Open a web browser and go to: http://webmail.mydomain.co.nz/. Use your email address as the login name and the password we have given. This password is the same one that was given to you for setting up the email program on your PC/laptop.
For example if you want to check the mail at info@bigtrucks.co.nz:
Browse to: http://webmail.bigtrucks.co.nz/
Login: info@bigtrucks.co.nz
Password: (mypassword)
